Apo Angel Sumangil is one of the sons of Apo Cirilo Sumangil Sr. He is the brother of Eliseo "Joving", Jesus "Susing", Jose, Cirilo Jr., Amparo "Paring", Himaya "Mameng" and Alicia "Alice" Sumangil-Soberano.

Angel was married to Conchita Dacquel and were the loving parents of Lina, Jovita "Jovie" Sumangil-Ortiz, Jocelyn Sumangil-Beltran, Jenny Sumangil-Dalope, Jessie, Julaida "Aida" Sumangil-Molina, and Julita "Ato" Sumangil-Guinto.
