Himaya Carmen or "Mameng" was one of the daughters of Cirilo "Apo Padi" Sumangil Sr. She was a dear sister to Eliseo "Joving" Sumangil, Jesus "Susing" Sumangil, Cirilo Sumangil Jr., Jose Sumangil, Angel Sumangil, Amparo "Pareng" Sumangil-Flores and Alicia "Alice" Sumangil-Soberano.
Himaya graduated from the Philippine Women's University and was a model employee of the Social Security Administration in San Francisco, CA. Also a founding member of PAUW, USA and Cuyapo Association and an active parishioner in the Holy Child and St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Daly City.
She passed away on November 19, 2007 at the age of 88.
